Adam Calvert is a 15 year-old singer from southeastern Ohio. He loves to sing and has been singing in public since the age of 5. He became interested in music when his parents took him to see Toby Keith in concert when Adam was younger. Adam sang along with Toby's "Should Have Been a Cowboy". Today Toby is one of Adam's favorite artists. Another influence is a special lady, who is the happiest girl in the whole USA... and what a show she puts on..... Donna Fargo! To Adam she is the happiest girl and most wonderful person in the whole USA. Adam sings mostly country but also loves all types of music and listens to Nickleback, Maroon 5, Train, and a lot of pop groups and adds a little bit of all types of music to his show. Some of his favorite cover tunes to sing are "Pretty Woman" and "Great Balls Of Fire". He not only loves to sing, but is quite the entertainer. He enjoys singing to crowds of all ages. Adam has asthma and decided at a very early age to help people. He believes through music he can do that, and also enjoy something he loves to do. His first singing experiences were at benefits for Cancer Society, flood relief, Make a Wish Foundation; and from then on the list grew and grew. By 6 years old he was singing with his cousin Lynsey at their first 4th of July show at the Cambridge City Park. Since then they have performed there annually. By age 7 he performed in the pre-show at the Alabama Theatre. That was an experience he will never forget. He sang "Angels Among Us". Since that time he has done showcases at Country Tonight and the Louise Mandrell Theatre in Pigeon Forge, and also the Hard Rock Cafes in Myrtle Beach & Nashville. He would like to live part time in Tennessee, where he loves to visit Gatlinburg and stay in the mountains; also Nashville where he visits his friends and loves to sing down on Broadway. Flash! One of his dreams has come true! He is now in Pigeon Forge at Country Tonite, performing with a great cast! Since he started singing the list of events are many.. singing at hundreds of benefits & fundraisers. He visits nursing homes & hospitals; sings at fairs, festivals, special events. He likes to compete at talent shows; he has been a finalist in the Jimmy Dean-True Value Showdown twice, finalist in the T-102 Country Playoffs Lima, finalist at Starquest Jamboree USA, finalist at Dream Big, St. Marys, and many more. In 2004 he won Dream Big Jr. in St. Marys, OH; USA Karaoke finals in Ft. Loramie, OH, where he opened for Martina McBride; and was in the top 20 of Y-City Star in Zanesville, OH. Adam has won over 15 awards from the North American Country Music Association International, including Vocalist of the Year 2004 and Entertainer of the Year 2002. He feels contests are fun and a good way to meet people.... and, as people have told him .... he believes in following your dreams! He hopes to continue singing, helping people. A few years ago he got involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It's an orgainization he wants to help out and someday he knows there will be a cure for it. He wants to help out any way he can to raise money for CFF. He was tested for the disease when he was 3 and it was negative so he feels very fortunate. One very special person in that organization is Suzanna Mueller, special events coordinator for Central Ohio. She works very hard to make special events happen. Another person Adam has met is Phillip Tucker from Nashville who was chairperson for Nashville's Great Strides walk. Phil is very nice and dedicated and made that walk a sucess. Also recording artist Renee Lopez who provided entertainemnt for the walk. These are people who care about people. Adam has met many people along the way of his young singing career. He will always remember people who helped him. One is Richard Pinney who was so nice to let Adam record his song "We Need a New Baseball Song". Also a very close friend and best songwriter ever is Earl Loar. Earl has to be the most organized person we know. He writes great music, is a great publisher and a great friend. He was also very kind to let Adam record a very special song which Adam now has available on a single CD called "One Flag of Freedom", available now by e-mailing Adam. This song is very special. Adam has performed the song at rally for troops, sang it at the Eagle's national convention in Buffalo, New York, and many special ceremonies. In September,2004, Adam was one of the performers at Smart & Sober Celebration in Columbus, OH. A great program, started by Ohio's First Lady, Hope Taft. Then he was invited to sing at the Governor's Residence for the volunteers of Smart & Sober. Meeting Mrs. Taft was an honor and talking to the volunteers meant a lot to him. In November, Adam performed in Columbus for the Ohio Prevention & Education Conference, where he met Beverly Watts-Davis, a very dynamic lady and Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention of the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. She invited Adam to sing for Community Prevention Day there in January. Adam hopes to help out at many other events that help youth to be drug and alcohol free.
